*May 26*
We can allow other people their own journeys.
Accepting that each of us has a unique purpose and a path of our own can be incredibly freeing.
This helps us focus on living our own lives with more clarity and intention; but at the same time it’s not always easy.
We care deeply.
We get tangled in other people’s pain.
We worry about their problems, stress over their choices, and feel the fallout of their mistakes far too often.
It’s natural.
Yet, we have to keep reminding ourselves: their journey is theirs.
Ours isn’t to fix or judge—it’s to stay grounded in our own growth.
Letting go of others can feel uncomfortable at first. When we’ve spent so much time wrapped up in someone else’s chaos, that sudden quiet can feel empty.
We might not even know what to do with the space we’ve created. But that’s when the wisdom of the Second and Third Steps becomes our anchor.
They help us shift the focus inward and hand over what we can’t control.
It’s a powerful adjustment—to stop managing everyone else’s life and finally show up fully for our own. And the best part? We don’t have to do it alone. Our Higher Power is already walking beside us, offering the guidance and peace we’ve been searching for.

Today’s Affirmation:
I must let others walk their own paths today. God will help me walk mine if I ask for guidance.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
