*June 1*
Trying to manage too much makes our lives unmanageable.
Being efficient is great.
Getting things done feels good.
And sure, being responsible and showing up matters. But when we start expecting ourselves to be ultra responsible, super productive, and endlessly efficient, we end up stuck on a treadmill that just drains our energy and peace of mind.
Trying to control everything all the time is exhausting—and when we inevitably fall short, it hits our self-worth hard.
One of the biggest lessons in recovery is realizing we don’t have to prove anything to be okay.
We don’t have to earn our worth by doing more.
Yes, we still take ownership of our actions, but our value isn’t tied to how much we accomplish.
Our Higher Power loves us as we are. And honestly, our only real “job” today, is to be kind. Be loving. Treat people with thoughtfulness.
That’s more than enough.

Today’s Affirmation:
Today I can recognize the boundaries between me and others. How they behave is not my concern, and it’s not my job to fix it.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
