You can learn to control your reactions.

When your ego feels bruised, it’s easy to lash out or say something you don’t really mean. But if you pause and remember that everyone sees things differently, it becomes easier to stay quiet—even when you really want to shout.

Trying to figure out who’s right and who’s wrong can drain your time and energy.

In reality, no one has to be right.

You can choose peace over being “correct” and let others have their own opinions.

Every time you walk away from an argument that doesn’t need to happen, it feels like a little burst of freedom. Sure, at first it might feel weird, especially if arguing has been your default. But just like that can became a habit, so can choosing not to engage.

The payoff? More peace. More control over your own energy.

Nobody makes you argue. You choose to. Which means you can choose not to.

Today’s Affirmation:

Today I will be quiet and peaceful and let others have their own opinions.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
