A Thought for the Day

Leap Essence’s Thought for the Day is a daily meditation for those in recovery or dealing with addiction to alcohol or drugs.

Check in with us every morning to read a new passage and find your inspiration for the day.

*June 9*

To detach is to trust our journey.

Conflict often starts when we try to change someone or something we don’t like.

And let’s be real, conflict drains us.

It brings stress, tension, and shuts the door on our growth and peace.

But why is it so hard to just accept things as they are?

According to Twelve Step programs, a big part of the struggle comes from our ego. We feel small or ignored when people don’t go along with our plans or see things our way.

Our self-worth gets tangled up in how others respond to us. But we don’t have to stay stuck in that pattern.

The stories we hear in recovery show us that it’s possible to let go, step back, and stop trying to control everything. And when we do that, we feel lighter, calmer, and way more connected.

Today, I don’t need to argue or prove anything. I can choose peace over conflict.

Today’s Affirmation:

I will be “accepting” and thus cultivate feelings of love at every opportunity today.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
