We can find value in most experiences.
We may not always understand what the bigger plan is, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
Life has a way of unfolding exactly as it should, even when it doesn’t make sense in the moment.
Some days just catch you off guard; whether its having a tough conversation, facing unexpected criticism, or a loved one acting in a way that hurts.
In those moments, it’s easy to dismiss what’s happening as just a bad day or to wish things were more fair. But when you look back, you realize those were often the experiences you thought would break you — yet they turned out to be the ones that helped you grow the most.
Growth usually comes wrapped in the stuff we’d rather avoid.
And to be honest, I’m really good at avoiding certain things myself too.
But what i’ve come to realize is that we’re not meant to have it all figured out ahead of time.
That’s part of the mystery, and the grace, of being guided by something greater than ourselves.
Remember that God’s timing is never off.
We’ll learn what we need to know when we’re ready.
We’ll be prepared for what’s ahead — not all at once, but step by step.
So even when life feels unclear, trust that you’re being led.
Every situation has a purpose.
Every moment is part of the path.
So when you wonder, why me? let’s remember how lucky we are to still be fulfilling God’s plan.

Today’s Affirmation:
My recovery is as much a part of God’s plan as was my obsessive co-dependency. I’m in a position to help other people now. Today’s interactions will lend purpose to my life.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
