A Thought for the Day

Leap Essence’s Thought for the Day is a daily meditation for those in recovery or dealing with addiction to alcohol or drugs.

*May 19*

Our words, unless loving, need not be spoken.

It’s natural to think we’re right all the time and that other people just need to be “shown the light.” But that kind of thinking leads to a lot of pointless arguments.

The more we get to know the principles of this journey we’re on, the more we learn to respect that other people have their own opinions, too.

There’s a big difference between sharing our perspective and trying to push it on someone else.

Since becoming part of this community, we’ve picked up all kinds of helpful tools.

One of the most powerful is learning when to keep our opinions to ourselves—especially when they’re not coming from a loving place.

That one simple shift makes a huge difference.

It changes how people see us—and even more importantly, how we see them.

When we choose to see others with love and speak with kindness, that transforms the way we live each day.

Today’s Affirmation:

I can be someone I’d admire today—it all comes down to how I talk and what I choose to say.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
