*May 2*
We can use our thoughts to create feelings of love.
When someone you care about does something that upsets or scares you, it’s easy to let your emotions take over.
A lot of us do it and just say, “I can’t help it.” But truth is, we usually can.
The Twelve Steps help us see what’s really out of our control—and what’s not.
Steps Four and Five show us that our thoughts and feelings are things we can work on.
We can choose what we think about, and that often shapes how we feel.
Once you start realizing that, it changes everything.
You can actually choose to feel love—even when things are messy.
And after a while, you won’t want to go back to the old way of thinking.

Today’s Affirmation:
The love I feel today is up to me. With each breath, I will exhale love.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
