Serenity is a gift available to us all If we want it.

Most of us didn’t come into this journey full of peace and joy. We showed up as a last resort—stressed out, anxious about the future, frustrated with the people around us, unsure of ourselves, and unsure of what to do next.

Honestly, a lot of us felt stuck and even a little hopeless.

But choosing this path?

That was a game-changer.

It really can turn things around—just like it has for so many others.

Of course, it takes some effort.

And it takes being willing to let something greater than us step in and guide the parts we can’t control.

What we get in return is a kind of peace we maybe never knew was possible.

And once we feel it, we start to protect it.

The Serenity Prayer helps us stay grounded when old habits creep in or tough decisions come up. It reminds us that we can take action where it makes sense—and we can also let go of the stuff that’s never been ours to carry.

Today’s Affirmation:

If I’m ever unsure today about what’s my responsibility and what belongs to someone else, I’ll reach out to my trusted guide for clarity.

A Life of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
