Just for today we can handle anything

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes.

A disagreement with someone we care about stirs up the fear of being abandoned.

Starting a new job brings on waves of self-doubt.

Family therapy begins and part of us just wants to run.

Or maybe it was just a bad dream that felt a little too real.

Whatever the reason, fear shows up, and hits hard.

But at the heart of it all, we’re capable of facing anything—as long as we ask for help, stay grounded in the present and taking it one day at a time.

The challenge is, most of us don’t live in today.
We fast-forward to tonight, next week, next year—imagining everything that could go wrong.

But when we slow down and stay present—just in this moment—and ask our Higher Power to walk with us, something shifts.

We realize we’re not alone.

We find strength we didn’t know we had.

And we discover that just for today, we can do this.

Because this day, this 24 hours, is all we truly have.
And within it, there’s nothing we can’t face—especially when we’re not trying to face it alone.

Today’s Affirmation:

My life will not be frightening even once today if i keep my mind on God.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
