Loving others begins with respect.
There are so many books out there about “how to love” that it can start to feel like we’re doing it wrong, or that we’ll never figure it out.
But honestly, it doesn’t have to be that complicated.
A good place to start is with The Golden Rule; which says to treat others the way you’d want to be treated.
Simple respect goes a long way, and most people respond by giving that same respect back.
So, try putting someone else’s needs ahead of your own today—just one person.
Do it from the heart, not out of guilt or pressure, do it because you want to.
If it’s tough, ask for help (from God, the universe, whatever you believe in). You might be surprised by how freeing it feels to step outside your own worries for a bit.
And if loving others feels hard, ask for help with that too.
Sometimes it’s our own thoughts or pain that get in the way.
But with a little willingness and support, we can show love to everyone who crosses our path today—even if it’s just in small ways.

Today’s Affirmation:
The love I feel today is up to me. With each breath, I will exhale love.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
